Welsh Hair and Beauty Award Winner 2019

Kala was thrilled to voted ‘Welsh Colour Technician of the Year’ at the 2019 Welsh Hair and Beauty Awards.

Voted Welsh Colour Technician for 2019 Kala is a Level 3 Qualified Hairdresser with experience of teaching hairdressing levels 1 to 3, including barbering. Kala loves to learn and attends many courses in order to keep up to date with trends and fashion techniques in an ever evolving industry. Courses include Paul Mitchell Colour Courses, Balayage and Freehand Painting, Fashion Colours, Vintage Hair Up Courses, Wedding Hair, Wahl Clipper Fade Courses and many more.  Kala specialises in all hair freehand and is a huge lover of balayage in all its variations. Kala is a qaulified ‘Master of Balayage’ and can offer the most low maintenance bespoke Balayage.Kala worked as an trainee in Ealing and then Covent Garden where she is very proud to say she worked under and was trained by Paul Matthew of Paul Matthew Hairdressing Garrick Street.

Kala gained her Level 2 at Pembrokeshire College over a number of years attending evening school, when Kala trained she did not receive a qualification and decided when working in marketing to go back to night school and she then became hooked again.   She also has her Level 3 Advanced which she studied at HB Training.

Kala is also fully qualified in the application of Hair Extensions.  She can apply 7 different methods.

Kala’s passion is for colour and spends her days creating bespoke colours for clients.  Clients travel from around the country for Kala’s colour services.  Kala loves creating bespoke Balayage, Ecaille and Ombre and prides herself on her freehand colour techniques.

Kala is a qualified Master of Balayage and has undertaken courses in sought after services such as The Airtouch Technique and the Wolf Cut

The Salon

The Salon after origiionally opening the doors in Solva is now located in Upper Market Street Haverfordwest.

We try to be kind to the environment using disposable towels, emphasis on recycling and our electricity is produced on the premises with by the use of a bio mass boiler.

You can relax enjoy unlimited tea, coffee, bubbles, wine, herbal tea, a homemade cake from the Country Kitchen while browsing the internet using our free WiFi.

The atmosphere is relaxed with clients working, online shopping or just enjoying the purpose made play lists.

Over the next 12 months emphasis will be placed on attending more education.  Education is key.

Macmillan Charity Event

Back in 2016 Kala coloured Abbeys hair inorder to raise money for Macmillan.  Abbey raised around £300 for this charity.  Kala donated her time and colours to this worthy cause.

Patch Christmas Hamper Run

In 2018 Kala asked clients to put food boxes together which would include a Christmas Dinner and treats for the Christmas Period. Kala delivered 38 Christmas Food Boxes to local charity Patch. Patch deliver food parcels to families during hardship in Pembrokeshire. We were blown away by the kind response from clients. Thankyou so much everyone who took part.

Stand up to Cancer ‘Paint your Hair PINK’

In 2018 Kala raised money for Stand up to Cancer. If a client wanted to add a little pink to their hair at the end of the service, they would pay £8 into a just giving page.  The salon and its clients managed to raise £218 for Cancer Reasearch.
